Meet the Team

On 16th January 2022, Mixed Doubles pair Tahli Gill and Dean Hewitt were announced as the first Australians selected to the Australian Winter Olympic Team for Beijing. Tahli and Dean are set to make history as Australia’s first Olympic curlers beginning their debut on 2nd February in Beijing. Get to know them below by clicking on their image:

Tahli Gill

Tahli, age 22, is a member of the Queensland Curling Association and has represented Australia in the following events:

  • 2021 Olympic Qualification Event
  • 2019, 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships
  • 2018 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships
  • 2016-2020 World Junior B Curling Championships (Jr Women)
  • 2012-2015 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships (Jr Women)

Dean Hewitt

Dean, age 27, is a member of the Victorian Curling Association and has represented Australia in the following events:

  • 2021 Olympic Qualification Event
  • 2017-19, 2021 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships
  • 2019 World Qualification Event (Men)
  • 2014-19 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships
  • 2016 World Junior B Curling Championships (Jr Men)
  • 2012-2015 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships (Jr Men)
