The National Competitions Committee for the Australian Curling Federation (ACF) is seeking team nominations for Men, Women, Mixed (Fours), Mixed Doubles, Open Doubles, Junior Men, and Junior Women events being held in Naseby, NZ commencing on Monday 13 May 2024 and finishing on Sunday 26 May 2024. It is anticipated that Men, Women and Mixed (4) will run the first week of that timeframe.

The final dates and competition duration will be determined by the number of teams entered and will be released to the nominated representative of successful teams by 1 March 2024 as well as posted on this website. It is recommended that teams do not make travel arrangements until this release is received.

The National Head Coach, Perry Marshall, will organise and plan Nationals in collaboration with the Nationals Committee. A competition draw schedule for each discipline will be released to the nominated team representative at the beginning of April 2024. The draw for each discipline will be dependent on the number of teams nominating.

The nomination process and competition outcomes will follow the ACF Eligibility and Selection document Version 2.0 and all players and coaches must be current paid members of a State Association (by competition in May) to compete. A copy of the Eligibility and Selection document may be found here or under the Policies and Documents section of the Resources tab at the top of this page.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CAMP

The ACF will conduct a 2.5 day high-performance Camp anticipated to be held 24 – 26 May (subject to scheduling) led by the National Team Coach and focused on the Mixed Doubles discipline to align with World Curling level opportunities in the next two to three years. These events include but are not limited to the 2025 & 2026 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships, 2026 Olympic Winter Games, 2025 & 2026 World Junior Mixed Doubles Curling Championships (event plans in development) and the 2025 & 2027 FISU World University Games. Application is open to both athletes and coaches. Apply here.  Application forms due 2359 hours 24 February 2024 (AEDT).

COMPETITION RULES

The competition will follow the current World Curling (WC) Rules for Curling July 2023 (or most current) unless otherwise stated in the ACF Team Meeting Document or confirmed at the Team Meeting prior to the start of competition. The WC rules can be found here

Open Doubles: This event is open to any 2-person combination. It does not require 1 female and 1 male player and will follow the Mixed Doubles game rules.

It is expected that teams will have an upper garment that is matching and distinct for the team in which they are playing. Matching upper garments builds the profile of each team and helps the officials and spectators identify players on each team. In order to ensure teams have unique team garments it will be required that teams submit uniform photos to the Chief Umpire two weeks prior to the start of the competition.
